Hall of Fame 004: Nipsey Hussle

How do you measure a man? How do you measure his influence and impact? When you leave, what’s the mark that’s left behind? These are the tough questions. The ones that require self-reflection and a lot of unflinching honesty. They’re questions I’m sure Nipsey asked himself repeatedly throughout his career. And unfortunately, on March 30th, 2019, those questions were answered. On that Sunday and every day after, I’ve seen the true definition of what a man can mean to his neighborhood, to his culture and even the world.

Embracing The Normal — The Balance Beam.

I didn’t think I could go in a different direction than everyone else. All that I saw was people being “normal”. I’ve seen that my whole life. People doing what they need to do and making an honest living but that’s not what I wanted for myself. I saw it so much that I began to despise it. I almost thought I was above it because I felt like my dreams and ambitions were higher than everyone else’s. That’s where I believe I failed.

'CMC' GAME 1: IT'S REAL NOW

I’ve grown comfortable with doing that with things involved with LBI, but putting out clothing feels different. There was a little self-doubt prior to the announcement of the brand because I wasn’t sure how it would be received. Would people like the designs? Is this a good name for the brand? Are people even going to buy this stuff? Once I got the purpose of the brand aligned with my intentions, those questions went away quickly

CourtVision 004: Chances Make Champions

Part of that process has been soaking up game from interviews and drawing inspiration from a bunch images & campaigns from the past and present. I’ve never been afraid to share the process of something I’m working on while it’s still in the developing stages. That’s honestly one of the most enjoyable parts of all this.

Welcome to The Winner's Circle: An Interview With Tone Capone

Since starting Litty Boyz Intl, I’ve been fortunate enough to have met or come in contact with a couple of great creatives and solid people in general. Tone Capone is definitely one of those people. From the first time I heard his music to now, he’s always been a stand-up individual and someone I know for fact, treats his music and business with the upmost importance. This interview not only reassured me that he is someone that takes pride in being honest in his music, but also he plans on using that to his strength in an effort to empower himself and have a long fruitful career — Welcome To The Winner’s Circle.

Build Your Own World. Ball Hard. Take Risks: Chances Make Championships

I can’t remember the last time I’ve been this excited for the new year. Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited for the new year. The new year is less than 6 days away and my mind has been flooded with ideas I want to get off in 2019. Some of them are lofty and other ones are ideal for the growth of Litty Boyz INTL as a whole, but one idea that I really can’t wait to bring to fruition is my brand, Chances Make Champions.

Litty Boyz International's First Interview (SVGE Magazine)

Last month, on Black Friday, Kile, Nyles and I celebrated the 2-Year Anniversary of Litty Boyz INTL. It’s wild to think that I’ve only known these guys for a little over 2 years and we’ve become like brothers. Over the course of 2 years, we’ve gone from 3 likeminded people with just an idea to 3 people with a chance to create a legitimate content company. So to celebrate that, we did our first interview with SVGE Magazine.

52 Weeks of Open Gym (365 Days of Patience)

Life is really turbulent when you’re young, black and creative. There’s so much to do and we have deadlines to adhere to and goals to reach. I understand that, but taking the time to listen to these memos showed me the importance of giving yourself the credit you deserve.

I’ve been helping one of my friends, Rell (@RellFromThe973), with his music since June. Outside of the actual songs, I’ve had my hand on everything from the release strategy for the music to the creative direction. These are images that are inspiring the creative direction heavily.

Home Is Where The Heart Is. (The Safety Net)

I love where I’m from. It’s not the most exciting place ever. It isn’t a city, but it’s a place that raised me. That’s irreplaceable. There’ll be no other place that I go to that can replicate the memories that I created here. Loving the neighborhood you grew up in is apart of appreciating your upbringing, but becoming an adult is knowing when you should leave that environment.

Championship Effort: 2-3 ZONE

Me and Kile aren’t into complaining about a problem we can help fix so we decided do something about it on our end. We have decided to link up and become a creative direction duo. Kile is handling the creative and art direction for artists. He’s the visual half of the group. I’m handling more of an A&R role.

Hall of Fame 003: Sickamore

Outside of being a rapper or a DJ, I didn't take know about all of the positions that are in the music industry. I knew I wanted to help create albums and develop talent. I just didn't know what that was called. When I found out the name of the position (A&R), all I saw were guys that look like businessmen. It rubbed me the wrong way because I know I'm the exact opposite of a suit & tie. It looked their jobs were devoid of any creativity which pushed me  even further away from it. Sickamore changed my perception of what an A&R could be.

Hall of Fame 002: Pharrell Williams

I'm not really a person that gets starstruck. I've always recognized celebrities as just people. They're people that you are can look up to in terms of the work they've done or their accomplishments but at the end of the day, they're just people with gifts like everyone else. They just found a way to make it their livelihood, which is special. With that being said, Pharrell is an omission to all of that statement for me.

Hall of Fame 001: JAŸ-Z

We've never seen someone in our culture go as far as him musically and in business simultaneously. The list could go on about his achievements and while I do admire him for that, the thing about Jay's story that always inspires me the most is his come up. Sometimes I feel people to tend to talk a lot more about Jay's wins than they do about his recovery from losses.

Three Lanes. One Finish Line.

In any sport, a team works best when everyone is firing on all cylinders and plays their individual roles to the fullest. That's what contributes to the success of the team. It'll be two years in November since me, Kile and Nyles officially started Litty Boyz INTL. It's been crazy to see the growth of not only the brand but us as people.
